THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!
The holiday season can be difficult for those whose life circumstances have changed. Losing a loved one, being away from home, being unwell, etc. , are situations which frequently diminish the joy of the season for veterans and service members. Veterans Voices Military Group strives to reach out to veterans and service members, offering support to make the events of the season a better, nicer, experience.
Christmas 2023
The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Bremen Post 2791, hosted a Christmas Day get together for sailors from Naval Station Great Lakes who could not be home for the holiday. Veterans Voices Military Group participated by providing a card, containing a gift, to each sailor. Allen DeNormandie, Veterans Voices Military Group vice-president, was on hand to personally thank each sailor for keeping us safe and to wish them well for Christmas and the new year.
Christmas in July
Operation Welcome You Home (OWYH) hosted Christmas in July for veterans at Edward J. Hines VA Hospital. Veterans Voices Military Group helped sponsor this event, providing gift cards for Santa to present to the people he got to visit during his short, warm weather visit.
Take a look at some of our previous Christmas activities, all aimed at brightening the holidays for those who could use a little more light in their lives.
