Adam entered the military on May 15, 1944, and served in the United States Navy. His service time was spent at United States Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, IL, Naval Training School, Navy Pier, Chicago, IL, and Naval Training School in Gulfport, Mississippi.
He was honored at the American Theater Camp with a Victory Medal. His honorable discharge took place at U.S. Naval Personnel Separation Center, Great Lakes, IL on 1/19/1946.
Adam was the beloved husband of Margaret (Dominica Barber) for 63 years. Loving father of William T. (Mary Pat) Weindenbach, James S. (Linda) Ivkovich and Margaret (Allen D.) DeNormandie. Cherished grandfather of David (Cindy), Natalie, Brandon (Meagen), Michelle (Tristan), Alex (Erin), and Madeleine. Great grandfather of Kyra, Paige, Derek, Willliam, Hannah and Oliver. Brother of 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and cherished friend of many.
Adam was born and lived in Chicago. He worked 39 years for People’s Gas Light & Coke Co. in the field and in sales & marketing. He was an active member of People’s Gas bowling league.
He also spent many countless volunteer hours with Queen of Martyrs Church in Evergreen Park, Brother Rice H.S. Father’s Club & Alumni, Evergreen Park, IL, and Circle 22 Golf League in Chicago. He was a season ticket holder for his beloved Chicago White Sox baseball team.
Adam will always be remembered as a leader. He proved himself to be strong, direct, persistent and especially a God loving, faithful man.
