The SkyDeck and the Submarine
A great day of activity and fellowship in downtown Chicago. Veterans Voices members rode a motor coach to Willis Tower, then rode up to the SkyDeck for a bird’s eye view of the greater Chicago area and Lake Michigan. We reboarded the motor coach for a short trip to the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) and had lunch. After lunch, members were on their own to view the many exhibitions and collections in the largest museum in the Western Hemisphere. The day ended with a group tour of the U505, the German submarine captured during World War II, and the ride back to Orland Park. The weather cooperated, raining only when we were in the museum.
The Willis Tower SkyDeck experience is free to veterans, as is entry to the MSI. Entry to the U505 costs $8 per person.
