Ronald “Ron” Schoenenberger
A Tribute to the Life of Ronald “Ron”Schoenenberger (brother of Nancy Grizzle):
Ronald "Ron" Schoenenberger was born in Chicago on Jan 31, 1947. He graduated from St. Rita High School in 1965 and went to work for R.R. Donnelly as a machinist. Ron was drafted into the Army in 1966 and served as a medic in a M.A.S.H. unit in Seoul, Korea and at Fort Sam Huston, Texas.
Upon returning to civilian life, he returned to his job at R.R. Donnelly, and used his medical training as a volunteer medic with the Romeoville Fire Department.
In 2007, Ron's father became seriously ill, prompting Ron to quit his job and again use his medical training to care for his dad full time. After his father's death in 2008, Ron moved back to Dwight, IL, where he lived until his death in June, 2017.
Ron was a kind, generous, fun-loving and active person who enjoyed skiing, tennis, scuba diving and home remodeling. That man could fix anything!
Ron leaves behind one daughter, Kariann, two sisters, Nancy (Bill) Grizzle, and Sue Sherrie, and many loving friends and family.
